This report describes a case of polycythemia vera, 55 year old male, treated with busulfan(myleran) and a brief review of literatures:
The chief clinical features were characterized by headache, dizziness, dyspnea, phlethora, fatigability, pruritus and splenomegaly. Elevation of the level of erythrocyte, leukocyte, hemoglobin concentration, hematocrit, platelet and total blood volume were suggestive of increased-bone ¢¥ marrow¢¥ activities that were appeared on. bone marrow study and consituted the most -consistent- laboratory findings. Under the follow-up study for 10 months, these clinical features and, laboratory findings became within normal limit after administration of busulfan about 480 mg of total dose.
